FreeSpace
Graphically displays free space for each mounted volume
Requires Amiga Release 2 (or greater)
Copyright 1993 Barry McConnell
Distribution:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This program is Freeware. You may freely distribute it, and charge only a
small fee to cover expenses. It must remain unmodified, and accompanied by
this doc file (and optionally the source code).
Fred Fish is explicitly given permission to place this program on his fine
disk collection. Walnut Creek are also allowed to use it on their Aminet
CD-ROM.
As with any free software, you use FreeSpace entirely at your own risk. I
won't be held responsible if your Amiga starts spouting smoke because of it!
Usage:
~~~~~~
Just double-click on it. That's all! FreeSpace will sort a list of all your
mounted volumes into alphabetical order (including hard drive partitions,
floppy disks, the RAM disk, etc.), and display them to you in a small window,
along with usage statistics, and a "fuel gauge" showing how full that volume
is. FreeSpace is totally font-sensitive, and will respect your default
Screen font.
FreeSpace understands three ToolTypes:
LEFT = left edge of window
TOP = top edge of window
PEN = pen colour to use for the fuel gauge (see your Palette preferences)
If you run FreeSpace from the Shell, it will not read in these ToolTypes.
Maybe in a later version...
Pressing Help when FreeSpace is running will give you a little bit of
information. The only other action possible is clicking the close gadget.
Currently FreeSpace does not update its window when data is written to any of
the volumes.
If FreeSpace encounters a problem (can't open the V37 libraries, can't
allocate enough memory, etc.) it will just silently abort, without giving an
error message.
Also I haven't got around to designing an original icon yet. Any budding
artists out there...?
